The goal of the Life on Purpose Alumni Program is to provide ongoing opportunities for learning, community engagement, and service to younger scholars.

Current Events:

 

1. The first Practical Conversations for Being an Adult will take place on Monday April 13th at 4pm MT. Hosted by Luke Jackson on Financial Topics. Access the Zoom link here
2. The second book club will be on Thursday July 2nd at 4pm MT. The book is The Path Between Us.

Participation in the alumni program is optional; however, we hope it will be meaningful so you will want to engage! 

Leadership Opportunities:

Two Alumni Co-Chairs:

Carmen Caudillo

Dylan Ziegler

  • Elected by fellow alumni
  • Serve two-year terms
  • Coordinate with the alumni network, plan events, and work closely with Grace to stay updated on LOP initiatives
  • Active throughout the year

Two Summer Retreat Volunteers:

  • Selected by the LOP team
  • Assist with food preparation, set-up, clean-up, transportation, and other activities as needed to ensure the weekend runs smoothly
  • Role is primarily active during the retreat weekend and in one or two planning meetings beforehand

One or Two Scholarship Selection Committee Members:

 

  • Selected by the LOP team
  • Serve one or two-year terms
  • Participate in the scholarship selection process, which is primarily active in March and early April

Activities and Opportunities:

Book Club

  • The alumni program, with co-chairs leading the planning, will select and read one or two books annually
  • Virtual book club meetings will be held to discuss the books

 

Alumni Retreat

  • An optional alumni retreat will be organized every three to five years
  • This initiative will begin once the program has grown to include more alumni, likely in a few years

 

Mentorship Program

Connect alumni with current scholars and younger alumni to provide guidance on career development, networking, and personal growth.

Networking opportunities

Encourage alumni to host regional meetups, happy hours, and professional networking events.

Facilitate panels featuring alumni and other professionals to discuss industry trends, skill development, and career pathways.

Information sharing

Publish an annual newsletter highlighting scholarship program updates, alumni accomplishments, and relevant field developments.

Encourage alumni to share their contact information on the program’s website to foster connectivity among scholars.

Volunteering

Promote opportunities for alumni to give back through mentorship, event planning, marketing the scholarship, or other contributions.
